Inclusive Dance Cork are delighted to present a 4 day intensive workshop with Marc Brew from 4 to 7 May 2025. 

Inclusive Dance Cork are delighted to welcome acclaimed International disabled dancer and choreographer Marc Brew for a unique 4-day workshop in contemporary inclusive dance practice from the 4 to the 7 May from 10am to 5pm daily, co-facilitated by Rhona Coughlan, Inclusive Dance Cork Artistic Director.

Originally from Australia, Marc has worked with several companies across the U.K. and was Artistic Director of San Franciso’s Axis Dance Company from 2017-2021. His most recent project is a collaboration entitled an Accident / a Life with renowned Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

This workshop is open to individuals over 18, with and without disabilities, including dance practitioners, movement artists, and anyone interested in inclusive dance practice. All levels of experience are welcome.

About the workshop host

Acclaimed International disabled dancer and choreographer Marc Brew trained as a professional dancer at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and The Australian Ballet School. He has been working internationally for over 25 years as a director, choreographer, dancer, teacher and speaker.  Marc was Associate Director with Scottish Dance Theater, Associate Artistic Director with Ballet Cymru in Wales, Associate Artist in 2015 at Tramway Theater in Scotland and Artistic Director of AXIS Dance Company 2017-2021. His new work an Accident / a Life in collaboration with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui was in The Guardian Observer’s Top 5 of Dance Review 2024. He was listed No. 6 in The List Hot 100, was named a National Lottery Game Changer for Arts and was winner of the Disability Power 100 in Performing Arts, Television, Radio sponsored by Channel 4.

About Inclusive Dance Cork

Inclusive Dance Cork is a training programme for people with and without disabilities who are interested in learning inclusive dance methods. It is designed for dancers to explore expressive movement and discuss a variety of ways to dance, facilitate, and support dancers of all abilities.

Initially conceived by Yvonne Coughlan, chairperson of Dance Cork Firkin Crane, this ambitious programme is made possible by all of its collaborators, with its home being at Dance Cork Firkin Crane.
