Maureen Gilbert

Disability, intercultural, diversity and equality consultant.

Maureen Gilbert is a disability and equality consultant working in Ireland and throughout the world for arts organisations, UN agencies, governments, statutory bodies, major corporations and NGOs, especially on the effective inclusion of people with disabilities in mainstream activities, services, the arts, employment and other aspects of civic life.

Maureen developed the UN’s approach to disability equality training (DET) and the training of facilitators of DET (ToF-DET).  She has been a consultant to Arts & Disability Ireland for over ten years, working on strategic planning, designing and delivering disability equality training, writing guidance, editing and more.

In addition, Maureen works on end of life issues and public/patient involvement (PPI) in health research, devises and delivers facilitation training, and devises and delivers workshops on intercultural communications, gender and on general diversity and inclusion issues.
