Visual Art: Re-Connection Curated by KCAT at Kilkenny Arts Festival
8 - 30 Aug 2024 (Past)
Re-Connection is an exhibition of KCAT Studio Artists’ European peers, including works by established artists from eight national and international supported studios, including KCAT itself.
Over the last 25 years KCAT studio artists have worked with and build up connections with organisations and artists both nationally and internationally. KCAT Studio artists wanted to reach out and reconnect with these organisations so that some of these relationships, somewhat lost over time can rebuild. Re-connections is an exhibition of the KCAT Studio Artists peers in the European context. A selection process took place by the KCAT studio artists selection committee who curated this international group show. It includes works by established artists, from seven national and international supported studios, including KCAT. Re-Connection selection and curators’ team are Sinéad Fahey, Fergus Fitzgerald, Brianna Hurley, Fintin Kelly, Eileen Mulrooney, Andrew Pike and Jason Turner.
The selected artists are Christian Wolff and Timo Winner, Geyso20, Germany; Edward Teeuw and Coen Ringeling, Atelier Herenplaats, Holland; Cameron Morgan and Steven Reilly, Project Ability, Scotland; Marie Holohan and Alan Ryan, Arts Ability, Wexford, Ireland; Mike Jensen and Bartosz Lucjan Andrzejczak, GAIA Akademi, Denmark; Ailbhe Barrett and David Connolly Crawford Open Studio, Cork, Ireland; Diana Chambers and Lorna Corrigan, KCAT Studio group, Kilkenny.
Re-connections is a free event exhibited as part of Kilkenny Arts Festival. A publication of the exhibition as well as audio description will be available for attendees, provided by Mo Harte. For more information and booking, visit kilkennyarts.ie.
