Visual Art: Bríd’s Tearoom by Bríd Heffernan

5 Dec 2024 - 11 Jan 2025 (Past)

The Lord Mayor's Pavilion, Fitzgerald's Park, Cork City

Sample-Studios, in partnership with Crawford Supported Studios is delighted to present Bríd’s Tearoom, a solo exhibition by Bríd Heffernan.

Bríd Heffernan presents a playful artist’s tearoom, responding to The Lord Mayor’s Pavilion’s original function as a reception area for welcoming dignitaries to the Cork International Exhibition of 1903. Bríd’s Tearoom presents cats, hand-made ceramics, and screen printing using pattern and floral motifs with vibrant pops of colour. A previous Arts and Disability Connect Mentoring awardee, Bríd’s exhibition playfully holds the historic function of the building while offering a sense of familiarity and warmth just in time for the Christmas season.

Bríd’s Tearoom opens today (Thursday 5 December) from 11:30am to 1:30pm and continues until 11 January 2025, open daily from Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm at The Lord Mayor’s Pavilion, Fitzgerald’s Park, Cork City.
