Visual Art: A World Of Painting solo Exhibition by Artist Ailbhe Barrett

20 - 30 Jun 2017 (Past)

Since I was a kid, all I wanted to do was draw all day. I’m not into dolls. I’m not into lego. I was born to do this.

Ailbhe Barrett will exhibit a selection of new paintings inspired by her love of film. Ailbhe is from Shanakiel, Cork and has been employed as an artist in residence at Mayfield Arts since 2009 as part of Cúig studio programme.

A World Of Painting, a Solo Exhibition by Artist Ailbhe Barrett

Ailbhe is one of the Cúig Artists. Cúig means five in Irish, and five artists work in the studio together.

“Every day I come into my studio. I put on my painting clothes and I start working. It feels like home to me. I just feel different and happy.”

Exhibition runs 20th – 30th June 2017, Cork City Library, Grand Parade, Cork.

Kindly opened by Maeve Dineen, Community Arts Officer, Cork City Council, 1pm Tuesday 20th June
