17 - 22 Dec 2022 (Past)
The Long Christmas Dinner at the Abbey Theatre, with ISL and Relaxed Performance
Written by Thornton Wilder
Directed by Sarah Jane Scaife and Raymond Keane
Nominated for Best Production, Best Director, Best Ensemble, Best Lighting and Best Supporting Actress at the 2022 Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards, The Long Christmas Dinner returns to the Peacock stage this Christmas
A gift-wrapped seasonal gem, in this meditation on togetherness and separation, birth and death, we visit successive generations of the Bayard family at their Christmas dinner table spanning a period of 90 years.
This heart-warming family drama happens over a seamless 50 minutes.
The Long Christmas Dinner gives us a moment to pause and reflect on our own families, what has been lost to us, and what Christmas means for each of us.
Relaxed Performance: The performance on Thursday 17 December at 6.30pm will be a relaxed performance.
This means there will be a relaxed approach to noise during the show and audience members are free to move about or leave the auditorium as they need. There are still tickets available for the Relaxed Performance. If you have any questions or wish to book for this performance, please contact Grace McKiernan grace.mckiernan@abbeytheatre.ie.
