Three people on a dynamic stage. The stage is detailed with a patterned and swirled floor, many crates, stools, boxes and shelves. Two people are either side of the stage, one standing and the other sitting. They are watching a person move dynamically across the centre stage, gesturing with a long object to the alphabet lit in large blue squares.

Theatre: Grace at Baboró International Arts Festival for Children

12 - 15 Oct 2024, 12:00 am - 12:00 am (Past)

Nuns Island Theatre, Galway

After their successful run as part of Cork Midsummer and Dublin Theatre Festival, Graffiti Theatre Company and Once Off Productions present Grace by Jody O’Neill as part of Baboró International Arts Festival for Children.

A new play for young people and families from Jody O’Neill (What I (Don’t) Know About Autism), tells the story of a girl who has a relationship with her father where no words are needed. In fact, Grace doesn’t use words to speak at all. When her father dies suddenly, Grace needs to find a new way to communicate. This exciting new production explores the universal themes of grief and communication as Grace and her father invite you into the multisensory landscape of Grace’s world.

All performances are relaxed and contain creatively-embedded access including captions and audio description. There will be an ISL interpreted performance Sunday 13 October at 3pm and Monday 14 October at 9.45am.

For more information and booking, visit baboro.ie

Produced in association with Cork Opera House. Supported by Baboró and The Abbey Theatre, and funded by the Arts Council.

Grace runs as part of Dublin Theatre Festival this September before moving to Nun's Island Theatre, Galway, as part of Baboró International Arts Festival for Children.

A ghost, a sparrow, a mother and a girl. Love doesn’t need words. You can just feel it.
