A group of people at a dinner table. Four people sit at a dining table, laden with ornate food and drink. One person stands with their arms around the person on the far left, and three people sit at the table smiling and laughing, with one participant pointing off camera while holding a glass of wine.

Theatre: Reunion at Galway International Arts Festival

25 Jul 2024, 2:00 pm

Black Box Theatre, Dyke Road, Galway

A family gathers for a celebration on an island off the west coast of Ireland.

When an unexpected visitor drops by, tensions begin to surface. Over the next 24 hours, scores will be settled, beliefs challenged, and truths disclosed, ultimately jeopardising their very future together. Mark O’Rowe turns his laser focus on the deep currents of family life with a masterfully orchestrated story which resonates with biting humour, profound insights and extraordinary authenticity.

Reunion is that most exciting of things: a major new ensemble play. It stars a roll-call of Ireland’s finest actors, including Ian-Lloyd Anderson, Cathy Belton, Venetia Bowe, Stephen Brennan, Leonard Buckley, Simone Collins, Desmond Eastwood, Valene Kane, Robert Sheehan and Catherine Walker.

Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival are thrilled to present the world premiere of this breathtaking new play, including a captioned performance Thursday 25 July at 2pm. Please note this venue is wheelchair accessible. Booking at giaf.ie.
