Online Exhibition: The Other Space by KCAT

KCAT is delighted to present Taking Stock a group exhibition by the KCAT studio artists on our online platform TheOtherSpace.ie .

For this exhibition, each artist has chosen three key or personally important artworks from their own archives. Presenting these valued works celebrates returning to work in the studio post Lockdown, by reflecting on the past to give a sense of direction and longing for a somewhat familiar future.

The KCAT artist studio is located on the first floor of our building. It is the permanent creative home to 14 professional visual artists. Studio artists are supported by facilitators in all aspects of their professional development. There is a strong sense of community and mutual support between artists and facilitators. Working individually, The KCAT studio artists all share, inspire and motivate each other.

The studio artists have produced, collaborated and been part of many extraordinary projects in Kilkenny and far beyond. Many are represented in national collections and have shown regularly at some of the most established galleries and institutions at home and abroad. The group has executed commissions and exhibited in Australia, Japan, the United States and a number of European countries. Studio artists have also collaborated on projects with other arts organisations and continually advocate their own work and that of KCAT.
