Film: Hunt for the Wilderpeople at the IFI (audio described and open captioned)
21 Sep 2016 (Past)
From director Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) comes this good-natured and very funny story of rebellious city kid Ricky (Julian Dennison), who is placed on an isolated farm with kind-hearted Bella and gruff Hec (Sam Neill), his new foster parents.
When Bella suddenly dies, Ricky runs into the forest rather than return to state care. When an accident strands him and the pursuing Hec in the wilderness, the outside world believes that Hec has abducted the boy, and a massive manhunt begins. Filled with humour and warmth, it’s an irresistibly charming film.
These are Open Captioned (OC) screenings that, whilst open to all, feature special captions for those with hearing impairments. Audio Description (AD) is available on all Hunt For The Wilderpeople screenings. Visit www.ifi.ie/accessible for more information.
