Southbank Centre to host first digital Unlimited festival in January 2021
The Southbank Centre will host the first digital Unlimited festival from 13 – 17 January 2021. Unlimited celebrates the artistic vision and creativity of disabled artists from across the UK. The five day festival will feature dance, performance, comedy, film, talks, workshops and art that challenges perceptions of disabled people. Alongside the digital programme, there will be an outdoor exhibition, Unseen by Suzie Larke. With the majority of events completely free, and a mix of live, participatory and on-demand viewing options, Unlimited will bring the Southbank Centre’s festival feeling to homes across the UK.
Full programme to be announced here.
Unlimited festival at the Southbank Centre
The Southbank Centre works closely with the Unlimited arts commissioning programme (us!), which is at the heart of the festival. We aim to embed work by disabled artists across all art forms within the cultural sector, reach new audiences and change perceptions of disabled people. Delivered by the disability-led arts organisation Shape Arts and arts-producing organisation Artsadmin, Unlimited is currently funded by Arts Council England, Arts Council of Wales, Creative Scotland and the British Council. Since 2013, Unlimited has awarded over £4 million to over 330 ambitious disabled artists and companies, which have been seen by or engaged with more than 2.6 million people globally and online.
