Two dancers against a blue sky. One person in a blue and pink jumpsuit soars into the sky, one arm lifted, and the other resting on their dance partner's back, braced on the ground. The dancer on the ground holds their hands to their knees, looking up at their partner in a navy jumpsuit.

8 Jun 2024, 12:30 pm (Past)

Carlow College Grounds, Carlow

The sky is the limit in this imaginative dance duet for children aged 6–10.

What do you want to be when you grow up? An Astronaut? A Brain Surgeon? The President?

With big ambition, anything is possible. Created especially with children in mind, The Galaxy of Occupations is an exciting, energetic, and exhilarating performance that reaches for the stars.

The Galaxy of Occupations is a production by Carlow based choreographer and dance artist Róisín Whelan and is inspired by a children’s poem by Áine Murray.

Presented in Róisín’s signature style of storytelling through contemporary dance, this show is performed by two exceptionally skilled dancers, accompanied by an original score by Carlow composer Aoife Kavanagh, and with costumes by Carlow native Claire Smyth.

Age recommendation: 6+

Performances will be signed in ISL by Shelley Gibson. Image by Michael McEvoy.
