project.
Three tours will be offered of one-hour duration each, beginning at 5:45pm, 7pm, and 8:15pm, each tour will commence at Triskel Arts Centre. Tours are free but booking is essential.
A series of innovative access services accommodations will be available during these tours
made for participants who have visual or hearing impairments. These services include:
● ISL interpretation
● Assisted listening technology
● Tactile resources
● Audio description via NaviLens codes.
An ISL Interpreter will accompany tours at 7pm and 8.15pm. Touch Tour resources available on all tours. When booking, please indicate which of the above services you require and if you have any additional access requirements.
After the tour, participants are invited to join Sample Studios Studios of Sanctuary artist Elize de Beer to create a screen printed tote bag from 6.45pm to 10pm, inspired by the Island City Urban Sculpture Trail. Where materials allow, those not on the tour may also have an opportunity to create the print.
Suitable for all ages, including children from ages 6+ accompanied by an adult. Please note that these tours will involve moving across the city centre, including crossing streets and mounting kerbs during what is anticipated to be a very busy evening due to a range of Culture Night events. While the tours welcome all participants, the nature of the route and the duration of the tours may prove challenging for some wheelchair users.
These tours are the first of an ongoing series access initiatives as part of the Island City Project.
