Tour: Island City Tour Cork’s Urban Sculpture Trail

30 Oct 2024 (Past)

Triskel Arts Centre, Tobin Street, Cork

Take part in a guided walking tour of Island City: Cork’s Urban Sculpture Trail led by Sample Studios Art Historian Dr Matthew Whyte.

There are two tours on offer from 5:15pm to 6:15pm and from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Tours are free but booking essential as places are limited – visit triskelarts.ticketsolve.com to book.

Comprising 5 public works of sculpture and video, the innovative trail represents the largest single investment in public art in state history. Discover how each sculpture links with the history and heritage of their location, reflecting fascinating stories of Cork’s past and addressing how we use the city in the present.

The first tour will commence at 5:15pm at Triskel Arts Centre and last for one hour.

Sample-Studios in partnership with Cork City Council will be offering monthly walking tours of Island City Urban Sculpture Trail so stay tuned for updates on future tours.

This month, we have a bonus tour to offer as part of Cork City Council Night Time Economy initiative! Commencing at Triskel Arts Centre at 6:30pm on 30 October, get into the Samhain mood and tour the Island City Urban Sculpture Trail as the sun goes down!
