Learn how to navigate the screen industries as a creative with a disability or as someone who is neurodivergent, with tips on self-advocacy, support and inclusive working practices.

The film and TV industry often feels intimidating and inaccessible, whether you are an established creative, or trying to land your first job. This is especially the case if you identify as disabled or neurodivergent – the industry is rarely inclusive in terms of working practice or physical access. As an individual with a disability or a neurodivergent condition, how can you navigate this industry successfully – and safely?

Join the British Film Institute‘s online panel discussion on 23 February at 2pm for advice on effectively advocating for yourself, tips on accessing support and setting boundaries, and insights into accessible working practices. Whether you identify as disabled or neurodivergent, or simply want to make your filmmaking more supportive and inclusive – this event is for you. Speakers include Lindsey Dryden, Danielle Goff, and Rosanagh Griffiths, hosted by Jess Painter, BFI Film Academy.

As part of this series, BFI will also host a webinar Can I Afford to Work in the Screen Industries? on 22 February at 4pm, exploring how working-class creatives can break into the screen industries, navigate low wages and help build a more equitable industry.
