Theatre: Smashing Barriers Taster Workshop

Ballyfermot Chapelizod Disability Action Collective established Smashing Barriers ‘Drama Collective’ in 2016 with the intention of creating performances demonstrating inequalities and barriers that the disability community face in their daily lives. To date they have written two plays ‘UnFair City’ directed by Peter Kearns and ‘Dead or Alive’ directed by Kate Harris. Both plays where performed locally in Ballyfermot, Tallaght and Ballymun to packed audiences.

Smashing Barriers is opening their doors to invite people with disabilities, their families, carers and Personal Assistants to explore story telling through drama and theatre performances.  A Taster Workshop will take place on Thursday 5th March next at 11am.

Although places are limited on this workshop, Smashing Barriers really wants to hear from people with disabilities, their families, carers and Personal Assistants in the catchment area who have an interest in exploring disability issues through the arts.
