30 Nov 2017 (Past)

Charlie Byrne's Bookshop, Cornstore, Middle Street, Galway

How ya Blondie, My Life, Part 1 by Mary Kinsella
Book Launch, Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, Thursday, 30th November, 6.30pm.

The special guest is the award winning comedian and actor, Eric Lalor, who plays Cathal Spillane in RTE’S Fair City. There will be unaccompanied songs from the Acafellas, a jug of punch and mince pies.

Admission is free but it is advisable to get to the venue early to ensure seats.  Howya Blondie is a compelling narration of an interesting life. Short punchy, chapters range in topic from early childhood memories to coping with the limitations of Cerebral Palsy and the day to day realities of institutional living.

Mary has been a long term resident with the Brothers of Charity Services in Galway and has also enjoyed long term membership of the Irish Wheelchair Association. The memoir is bracingly honest and insightful with healthy doses of wit, sarcasm and humour.

Edited and shadow written by the award winning writer Anne Marie Kennedy, this promises to be an entertaining, educational and fun evening.

Further launch dates are as follows:
Friday, 24th November, Lady Gregory Hotel, Gort, 7pm.
Saturday, 16th December, Loughrea Library, 3pm.
