Mayfield Arts Centre seek Artist in Residence

Mayfield Arts Centre are seeking to recruit a part time artist in residence as part of their Cúig supported studios programme, reporting to the manager of Mayfield Arts Centre. The position is funded by POBAL’s Community Services Programme.

Mayfield Arts Centre is a unique dedicated arts space based at Newbury House Family Centre. Mayfield Arts designs, co-ordinates and delivers creative arts programmes with other community groups and arts organisations.

Cúig (Creativity Unlimited, an Integrated Group) are five artists with intellectual disabilities employed as artists in residence at Mayfield Arts Centre.

The position is opened to artists with intellectual disabilities who are 18 or over, and the working week is 14.5 hours (mornings).

Reporting to: Manager of Mayfield Arts Centre and is ultimitely responsible to the Board of Management
Working Hours: 14.5 hrs per week (Mornings)

Overall purpose of the post: To be artist in residence as part of the Cúig project under the Community Services Programme. Cúig – (Creativity Unlimited, an Integrated Group are five artists with intellectual disabilities employed as artists in residence at Mayfield Arts Centre, Newbury House. They are supported by two arts workers)

Reponsibilities:
• To develop artistic practice with the support of arts workers
• To prepare art work for exhibitions and artistic and cultural events
• To co – facilitate creative workshops with schools and other organisations
• To participate in open art session workshops and QQI courses related to their work

Other duties: Any other duties relevant to the post
